Financial decisions

Financial decisions. We have to make them daily, but what do we base our decisions on?  If we’re honest, most of our financial decision making is set on autopilot.  We rarely give these important choices the thought they deserve.  However, Jesus made teaching about money one of the major themes of His ministry.  So, how do we decide whether or not to take that next vacation? How do we decide how much to give to charity? How much of our monthly budget should be allocated to eating out?  We’d like to share some principles that can help guide you when making these decisions.

The Ownership Principle- God owns it all, we are just temporary stewards.  Psalm 24:1

If God owns it all and we are just managers of what He has entrusted to us, the question we should be asking is “What would God have me do with His money?”

The Unity Principle- Your spouse completes you, not competes with you.  Ephesians 5:28-31

Are you and your spouse on the same page about this financial decision?  Do you agree on this purchase or expenditure?

The Treasure Principle- You can’t take it with you, but you can send it on ahead.  Matthew 6:19-21

How long term is your investment horizon?  Are you investing for the next 20-30 years or the next 20-30 millennia?

God loves us and wants the best for us!  He did not leave us to roam aimlessly in this world to do things on our own.  Through His Word and His Spirit, He has given us principles to guide us to be all that He created us to be!  I pray that we continue to become better managers of the money that God has allowed us to steward.  If we at Power Financial can help you in any way please don’t hesitate to reach out.
